Neighborhood WIC: We help over 40,000 women, infants, and children a year to enroll in the NYS Women Infants and Children (WIC) Program, which provides education and counseling around nutrition and physical activity, breastfeeding support, and vouchers to purchase nutritious foods for eligible pregnant and nursing women and children up to age five years of age. WIC packages help ensure more nutritious diets and improve healthy shopping behaviors. We administer nine free-standing WIC centers in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.
SNAP Assistance: We assist clients to enroll in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as Food Stamps), which helps eligible community members to purchase the food they need from most grocery stores and other approved food outlets.
Healthy Food Retail Action Network: (HFRAN) is a New York City based alliance that brings together healthy food retail practitioners, non-profit organizations, advocates, academic institutions, business representatives, and policy makers working to increase equitable access to healthy and affordable food in brick and mortar retail venues across New York City.
